The South Somerset 14-19 Partnership

The South Somerset 14-19 Partnership is a collaboration between the secondary schools, the special schools and Yeovil College, in the South of the County.
A main aim of the Partnership is to organise and promote aspirational career information events for our young people and these include the Year 8 ‘My Future’ events and the ‘Future Forward’ Higher Education month.

The pinnacle of this work is the annual Careers Fair, now in its 7th year, which takes place at the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm museum on Tuesday 13th November 2018. Due to the success of these Fairs the Partnership has been asked to deliver another Careers Fair and are pleased to announce a second Fair on Wednesday 10th October 2018 at the Taunton County Cricket Ground.

The South Somerset 14-19 Partnership undertakes work to help support the transition of its young people into Post 16 destinations by liaising with schools, colleges and support agencies to provide additional information and support.

Employer engagement is also a key area of work for the Partnership and this includes organising the Work Experience placements for all of its Year 10 students, not only in South Somerset but also for the majority of Somerset secondary schools.

The Partnership is overseen by its Directors, Julie Young (Julie.young@yeovil.ac.uk) and Jocelyn Pritchard (Jocelyn.pritchard@yeovil.ac.uk ).
